GOLDSMITHS | BA Fine Art 2021

Harry Curtoys

(Snippet) Exhibited in the Saint James Hatcham Church, 1st Floor, Room 101. This work follows an unnamed character’s journey through loved up, romantic and melancholy samples spanning the lengths of the timeline of dance music. The work seeks to unify the sensations of heartbreak and longing with the fleeting romances often found in nightclub spaces, something lost in the pandemic, and aims to empathise with the lonely figures found here. We have had glimpses of world where some kind of romance is felt in the most uncanny spaces, now we have to purposefully aim for it.
Audio piece, samples and compositions stitched together. Exhibited using a 4-way PA sound system, 2021.
