The Agony & The Ecstasy, Part II, 2020
In the five-part installation The Agony & The Ecstasy (2020) I look at fear and desire in a framework of experimentation and playfulness. My relationship to my private surroundings and worlds is reflected through an intimate use of the lens. How the concepts of ‘masculine’ and ‘feminine’ are formulated and negotiated is an ongoing mystery, which provides an endless sense of magic to me. The pathos of opera, in this context the 2 versions of Lacrimosa (The Lament) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, are used to anchor private mythologies through non-linear narratives and forms.
