Dounraey, Scotland, September 2019

The Nuclear Cultural Heritage Research Network met in Thurso for the Workshop on Interpreting: Nuclear Imaginaries and Mediators.  The workshop included a tour of Thurso’s Atomic Estates built for nuclear workers in the 1950s; and a visit to the Dounreay Test Reactor site which is now being decomissioned.

Visit to Sizewell August 2019

In August 2019 Yelena Popova and Rosy Gray from Norwich Castle Museum organised a visit to Sizewell B  Britains only pressurised water reactor (PWR).  Yelena and Rosy were joined by Warren Harper and Ele Carpenter for a tour of the plant followed by a walk along the beautiful beach, where Yelena collected stones for her Nuclear Scholar stones project.
